In poker, players are required to place forced bets, known as ante or blind bets. The dealer then cuts and shuffles the deck of cards. Each player in turn is dealt one card, either face-up or down. As the cards are dealt, poker hands develop. Players can then either call the bet or raise it. When all players in a hand fold, the betting round ends. Poker hands develop between rounds.<\/p>\n
The game can be played with any number of players, although six to eight is ideal. All bets placed by all players are collected in the pot, or “pot”.
